Vision

To cultivate confident, articulate, and intellectually grounded individuals who can engage in informed discourse, critical analysis, and ethical argumentation at national and international forums.

Mission

The Superior Debating Society develops students’ critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills through structured training, competitive exposure, and intellectual engagement, fostering leadership, ethical reasoning, and a culture of respectful dialogue and academic excellence.

Objectives

Learn | Learning & Leadership

To strengthen students’ analytical reasoning, communication skills, and leadership capacity through structured debating workshops, training sessions, mock debates, and mentorship.

Contribute | Talent Development & Representation

To identify, nurture, and represent student debating talent by facilitating participation in declamation contests, parliamentary debates, and competitive forums at university, national, and international levels.

Connect | Collaboration & Linkages

To build linkages with debating councils, academic institutions, alumni debaters, and intellectual forums to provide exposure, mentorship, and competitive learning opportunities.

Sustain | Governance & Accountability

To ensure transparent, inclusive, and sustainable society operations through documented governance processes, regular meetings, reflective reporting, and structured event planning.

Celebrate | Campus Culture & Pride

To promote a culture of intellectual engagement and respectful discourse on campus by organizing flagship debating events that celebrate expression, reasoning, and institutional pride.

Meet Our Advisor

Dr. Ahmed Umer Sohaib

A writer by passion and an educationist by profession, Ahmed Umer Sohaib has consistently demonstrated excellence in academia and beyond. As a recipient of numerous prestigious fellowships and youth development programs, he stands out as a dynamic personality with a versatile skill set.
His contributions as an opinion editorial writer for esteemed newspapers such as The Nation, Daily Times, The Express Tribune, and Commonwealth, among others, reflect his intellectual depth and commitment to societal discourse.
During his university days, Ahmed Umer Sohaib dominated the All Pakistan Declamation circuit, securing positions at more than 15 national events. He has also been a host to TED Talk circles. Currently, he is a lecturer, an advisor to the Superior Debating Society, QEC Head, and 1M Incharge at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
