Sanitary pads are an essential part of feminine
hygiene. Every month, 1.8 billion girls across the world
menstruate. Millions of these girls, women face gender inequality, discriminatory social norms, cultural taboos,
poverty and lack of basic services like toilets and
sanitary products can all cause menstrual health and
hygiene needs to go unmet leading to deadly diseases
in females. The Active Citizens from Superior Social Entrepreneurship Program (SEP-CMACED) under the
mentorship of Ms. Tahreem Fatima from Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and in coherence with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal-3: Good Health and Well
Being and Goal-5: Gender Equality, installed a sanitary pad vending machine in Superior University Raiwind
Road Campus to promote female health and hygiene.

sanitary pads.

The increasing amount of plastic waste in our world is having a significant impact on our environment and endangering human
and marine life. The biggest issue with plastic is its longevity as it can remain in its state for hundreds of years. The whole world is shifting towards the use of organic materials and
other eco-friendly replacements of plastic. Plastic toothbrush
caps contribute to several million metric tons of plastic pollution every year. In order to tackle this issue and promote a better environment, Active Citizens from Superior Social Entrepreneurship Program in coherence with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals-3: Good Health & Well Being & 13- Climate Action developed a biodegradable Bioplastic Toothbrush Cap using everyday use ingredients. These caps will serve as the primary substitutes for the plastic toothbrush caps that are being used rigorously by human beings and will help aid the decrease in use of plastic.

Vending carts are source of income for many people in Pakistan.
These carts are the one of the key segments of the informal economy in Pakistan as they provide jobs to many people and facilitate consumers.
The informal economy of Pakistan has to be the most important part of the economy because it provides livelihood, bread & butter and shelter to the underprivileged rather ignored segment of the society, the poor. Almost 35% of the contribution to the GDP is through the informal sector. The street vendors in the narrow streets of the city
are all included in the informal sector and undoubtedly a source of
providing employment and income to a larger chunk of society. The Active Citizens from Superior Social Entrepreneurship Program
(SEP-CMACED) under the mentorship of Dr. Usman Sadiq from Faculty of Management Sciences, provided 20 vending carts to 20
individuals from underprivileged communities. These vending carts not only will provide food to those families but will also add to the growth of economy in Pakistan. This project is associated with SDG 1(No Poverty) and SDG 2(Zero Hunger)
